Four-color Fire Pattern

Video, 2009, 4:15 minutes

In Four-color Fire Pattern, four performers attempt to create a camouflage pattern together. In a desert landscape outside San Diego, California, we recorded four performers walking toward the camera from a distance. We took four takes, each time wearing a different color (orange, yellow, brown and black) for each part of the camouflage pattern. Through video compositing, the four takes playback simultaneously and allow both pattern and performer to hide and conceal each other.
